The 2026 New Zealand summer festival season features a wide range of ticket prices, with AUM in Auckland setting the high end at $450. This cost covers a three day camping experience scheduled from December 30 to January 2. The event will take place at Leightons Farm in Parakai.
AUM, which stands for Authentic Unified Movement, began in 2014. It describes itself as environmentally conscious and waste free. The festival features four stages, including a main stage called White Stag that changes its musical theme each night. Organizers stated that music is sacred and that dance floors serve as their church. The event is family friendly until 10 pm, after which children must leave the stage areas. Attendees under 18 require a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the festival.
Other major events in the Auckland region are also finalizing their details. Hidden Valley will hold a one day event in Matakana on December 27. Tickets for that date cost $210. The lineup includes Dimension and Armand Van Helden. Northern Bass is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Kaiwaka. It runs for two days from December 30 to 31. General admission presale tickets are priced at $209.90, while the third release costs $309.90. A separate two day camping pass adds $79.90 to the total cost.
Matakanarama is a grassroots festival held in Leigh on the Matakana Coast. It will run for three days from December 29 to 31. The three day pass is $309, with a $79 camping fee. The event expects 1,500 attendees for its third year. Previous years saw smaller crowds, with 350 people camping in 2024. The lineup for 2026 includes Park RD and Troy Kingi.
In Gisborne, Rhythm and Vines will hold its final year at the Waiohika Estate location in Tairāwhiti. The event runs from December 28 to 31. Campers can attend a pre party on December 28. The main festival pass costs $359 plus booking fees. Single day admission is $179 plus fees. Camping options range from $480 to $539. The lineup features John Summit, Netsky, and Dave Dobbin. The organizers confirmed the event will move to an undisclosed location for the following year.
Famous Last Words is scheduled for December 31 in Mount Maunganui. This Bay of Plenty event is holding its fifth anniversary edition. It is the largest New Year festival in the region. The general admission ticket price is $149. The event will operate four stages for the first time, adding an outdoor stage for sunset viewing. The lineup currently lists Peking Duk and S.P.Y., with additional artists to be confirmed.
