A 15-year-old student at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach was arrested Friday, Oct. 30, after allegedly entering words about killing the president on a school-issued laptop, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. The arrest coincided with President Donald Trump's scheduled visit to the city for a midterm election rally.

An arrest report said school officials were alerted after the girl allegedly typed "how to kill the president" and "im just kidding" in her school OneDrive account. The notification went to multiple faculty and staff members, along with law enforcement agencies. FOX 35 withheld the student's name because of her age.

The school resource officer contacted the student and attempted to handcuff her, according to the report. Police alleged that she resisted, tried to leave the office, kicked and swung her arms. The officer then wrapped his arms around her and brought her to the floor, where she allegedly lay on her arms to prevent officers from detaining her.

During the struggle, the officer's Taser broke away from its holder, the report said. A school guardian assisted in detaining the student. Officials also contacted the girl's guardian, who confirmed that she had no access to weapons. The remaining portions of the arrest report were redacted.

The student faces three charges: making a written threat to kill or cause bodily harm, obstructing police by depriving an officer of a means of protection or communication, and resisting or obstructing an officer without violence. Trump was identified as the victim in the report.

In a separate case, a 21-year-old Florida woman identified as Albro was arrested early Friday over a social media post allegedly threatening to shoot Trump. According to police records, the post included a selfie-style photograph and a caption saying she planned to attend a Trump rally in her city the following day.

The U.S. Secret Service flagged that post and notified the Volusia County Sheriff's Office's Domestic Security Unit, which went to Albro's home. She reportedly told deputies the message was "obviously a joke," denied owning a Glock and said she disliked guns and would never hurt anyone. She also acknowledged disliking the president.

Responding to Albro's arrest in a Facebook post, Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood urged others to reconsider posting similar supposed jokes. He said his office was working with the Secret Service, FBI and other law enforcement partners to keep the presidential visit safe for attendees and the wider community.
